Find some one with a used rex, and get the parts cheap.

I'll sell you a set of lines and cooler with all bolts and required fittings. $50. PM me if you need it...

I would be curious to know why someone bypassed the oil cooler, as it is responsible for 30%-40% of all engine cooling...It's sort of an important part.

You really don't have an oil cooler???

Maybe your mechanic is smoking crack? Or because the car was cold when he tested it, the bypass in the cooler was working and he figured it was broken.

I have a hard time beliveing someone would just remove the cooler.

as Arron said it is really about 30% of the engine cooling.

what in the ****?!?! um.. dude.. no oil cooler = yo **** hot as a mo fo... i would personally get the hell under the car and peak around for it. or you can just look from the top at the oil cooler lines. www.fc3s.org has a factory service manual online if you need some pictures of the location and what it looks like and such. good luck homes.

Thanks guys, yeah i figured it was kinda of important. Ive been going ape **** trying to figure this situation out i just dont get it.
I flew over to the place to look at the car cuz i just couldent believe it dident have an oil cooler. This is what i saw. Theres like a mini radiator lookin thing infront of my radiator, and from the Hanes book it says this is the oil cooler but the Mechanic is saying no its the AC condensor. Hes sayin the oil cooler goes infront of the AC condensor and is a lot smaller than the AC condensor inself. But im lookin at the ****** picture of the oil cooler out of a diagram of a shop manual and it shows a long *** radiator lookin style thingy that is sitting in Front of the radiator. so

CAN SOME ONE PLEASE JUST TELL ME WHERE THE OIL COOL IS AND HOW BIG IT IS TO HELP ME IN MY SEARCH
-Thanks

The oil cooler is about as long as the radiator, but only about 4 to 5 inches tall, it has two hoses, both of which lead to the engine block on the drivers side, one connects to the front cover (on the front of the engine) and the other connects in the rear near the bottom of the engine (down by the spark plugs) The AC condensor is as long as the radiator, but is TALL. Also, the oil cooler should be a grey/white color, the AC condensor will be black.

If you look at my turbo topics at the top of this forum (either number 2 or 3) you will find several pictures of my oil cooler both in and out of the car.

Indeed you should, if you are really uncertain if it's the oil cooler, just follow the lines from it. If it goes to the engine block, it's the oil cooler. Does your car even have air conditioning? If it does, look on the back side of the radiator again and you should see what looks to be a small thinner radiator that is black in size, about 18" or so high, can't remember exactly, and the same width. That is your condensor, the oil cooler is a lot smaller than this, about 3" deep, 4" tall, and the length of the radiator accross. Should also have one bigass bolt on the bottom of it where the lines connect for draining I believe, think it's a 22mm, the condenser won't have a bolt.

SO the AC condensor is in back of the radiator?? well just by this i know the thing i see infront of the radiator must be the Oil cooler right? I was looking at AArons Pics and i see his oil cooler in the same place i see my suposed oil cooler.

There is no mistaking the oil cooler for the AC condensor. The oil cooler is HUGE, the condensor is small. Also, the lines from the oil cooler go to the front and back of the engine block, not the AC compressor. Most likely, your oil lines are leaking and your AC is not.

Indeed, don't go saying the oil cooler is HUGE and the condesnor is small though, that may confuse him as the condesor is taller than the oil cooler, it's quite easy to see. I'll supply you with some pictures.

What I mean is that the oil cooler clearly takes up more volume than the condensor. There are pictures in the sticky topics at the top of the forum. Specifically, status #2.

Yeah, I know what you mean Aaron, but you never know how he'll look at it, thinking maybe that it's bigger due to it's being taller, or if he'll realize the volume, so I decided to take the safe route! Either way, I hope he gets his car away from that guy quick!
