however the car still has power b/c all the lights work, headlights go up. turn lights and brake lights interioir lights.

I put a new main power fuse it

Headlights that light and go up/down, but no action from the key means you lost the power to the ignition switch. Either the Main fuse is blown, still, or the wire that goes from the engine bay fuse box to the ignition switch harness is uncoupled.

The leads for the ignition switch are fwd and below the ignition switch itself. About four connectors. One connector has a pure black wire and that wire is the power wire for the ignition switch. Its other end is below the engine bay fuse box. A single spade connector with one wire in it. Black.

That same wire also is spliced to the alternators output wire. Get a meter and put it on the alternator output wire. No voltage means the connector below the engine bay fuse box is uncoupled.

It was the single black wire from the fuse box, the conector was messed up. just cut it out and put a wire conector in there. thanks for your help
