No Idle!!!

so i think i have a big problem. i have a 87 TII all stock and the idle wont drop below 1500. i figured it was due to my cold start. i took out my temp sensor that sits on top of my water pump(not the thermosensor) and was going to put in the aftermarket autometer wtaer temp one in but then it started to idle at like 1500 so i took it back out and put the stock one back in. it still idles at 1500. so then i drove it on the free way and it would drop to almost normal 750 but then go back to 1500 after it was off the freeway and just driving around(all this is without shuting the car off). so i thought, maybe i tripped the ecu so that it stayed in cold start. so i diss-connected the battery to see if that would work. nope. so now im lost.
i need this fixed because now i only get like 11 mpg and i hate buying gas every 3 days. my car also seems like it is running rich. i was thinking maybe a bad fuel pump or something but im not sure. i have am apexi tubo timer and one of the features on it shows the a/f and it reads pretty much 14.7 all the time. im not sure if thats right though.

well any imput on this would be great thanks

well, for one, the turbo timer isn't going to be accurate unless you're running a wideband o2 sensor with it also. it's not going to be the fuel pump either.

its kinda hard to figure out what went wrong
from what i read it could be a bad temp sensor...
an oem sensor for replacement
bad temp sensor causes car to flood with gas..
or u might of pop a vacuum hose while takein
sensor out...

you might want to check your BAC valve. I had a bad one and sometimes it made my car idle like that. I replaced it and now everything's about close to normal. you can get one from Mazda for about $700, Mazdatrix for about $500, or the forum for about $50. yeah it's crazy.
