The fuel pump isn't supposed to run when you turn the key to the 'ON' position. It will only run under these conditions:
  • Cranking
  • Engine is running
  • The AFM door is propped open & key is 'ON'
  • The yellow test connector is jumped & key is 'ON'

where is the yellow test connector lacated at ?, Thats funny because I used to hear the fuel pump run when I would turn the key to the on ( aka run ) position and now it does not. It's the stock air flow meter but some one has adjusted the adjustment screw on it so could that be the cause of the running condition I currently have ? it will start and only run for a breif few seconds and die like it's suffering from a loss of fuel.

The test connector is near the passenger-side strut tower. If you used to hear the pump run with the key to 'ON' only, someone has re-wired it & bypassed the circuit opening relay. The adjust screw on the AFM just changes the amount of air that is allowed to bypass the flapper door. It has nothing to do with the fuel pump switch.

It was the airflow meter that went south for some reason , so i swaped it out with the one from my 88 Vert and she fired right up. so guess I have to find an air flow meter now.
