You can drive without one but you'll end up sucking air in the system which could cause overheating problems. Buy another one or if you're cheap make one using a coke bottle or something.

I hear people block the hose? So nothing goes in or out. Good or bad? I am kinda cheap but I may do that.

Also if I have a TII engine do I have to have a TII PS pump?

If you simply block the hose pressure will rise in the system as temps increase.

And as far as I know all PS pumps are identical.

Find one at the junkyard or get a universal one from autozone. Please do not drive around without one, it's just askin for trouble.
