well your not going to get anything out of it with that auto transmission, they are terrible for n/a rx7's, your choice is some outragious racing auto transmission or do a manual swap (worth it)

First gear on an AT is just that way. I'd spun out making u-turns on wet streets in my AT, just because it decided to switch to second at the worst time.

Cool

yeah i know that i have to keep it under 5000 rpm and its hard, you kno u have a civic with some loser in it and all you see is smoke from there pipe. but any ways i should ask how can i get more power out of my car and keeping it n/a. the engine is 10=15% ported, i like my engines nice and smooth.

You know JB, I almost did the same one night taking a turn just like you did. The only thing I can think of since another member on here has done this with his car, get your tranny overhauled and ask/request whoever is doing the overhauling, to add a shift kit to your car.

The AT died. It started clunking one day, then wouldn't shift out of first. Instead of getting the tranny fixed, I bought an '87 Sport that needed some work for $900. The AT is now my parts car, and I've got a peppy 5sp.
