no acceleration / low end power
i took my s5 n/a to mazda because i couldnt figure out why i suddenly lost acceleration. i talked with eric davis(awsome rx7 mechanic) and he took a look at it. said it was clogged exhaust, that made sence since the car had a catco cat on it, so today i cut the cat out and ran some pipe to the y pipe. but i still have no power. so i started to think that my 5th/6th ports were stuck open because i had no low end power, around 3000 i would start to see some power.
how do i go about cleaning the acuators and such?
thanks

i would get a compression test. try using the wonderful search function. it will provide a whole new world of information right away instead of waiting for people to respond minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, month by month and so on......<- srry got a little carried away. -alex

i guess i left some things out, and thanks for telling me to search, i did and i still am searching but asking is also good. would any one come to this forum if there was never any new post, telling people to search is just a cop out, people asking questions and getting answers is what makes this a forum, if people never post and just search that would make this an rx7 encyclopedia.
anyways:
i have check compression all 3 sides of both rotors are above 90psi, slighty higher than when i first got the car.
i have fuel, just rewired pump so now it gets 12.5v at idle. air / fuel gauge shows rich while acceleration, so its not starving for fuel. i also put a new fuel filter in.
i have spark, check first with a timming light on each of the wires. i also check for spark by pulling the plugs one by one and setting them on the strut tower while cranking. both test show that i am getting spark.
i checked timming its dead on. i have not restabbed the CAS but i dont think that would matter if the timming is good already.
i regrounded both coils, pressure sensor, the engine, BUT not the ECU. i think it would help to grond the ECU but i dont think that will solve my problem.
i tested the TPS, i reset the tps. both as the FSM says and also to 1 Ohm. and it is within specs according to the manual.
so the only thing i could think of is that the 5th/6th ports are stuck open.
from searching i should be able to remove the actuators and clean them up, see if they move when i blow into them. if those are fine i guess the ports are stuck open, the FSM says you need to remove the manifold but i dont want to that, its cold out with no garage. i heard people sprying carb cleaner in there and trying to break them free. is that my only option?
