nitrous on a na is dangerous if not tuned right with the proper ems and proper fuel management system.
the 50-75 hp boost would be better spent on a turbo swap. beleive me i wanted to throw on nitro and was baffled at costs and could just about buy a whole turbo car
for what it would cost to throw nitrous properly through a engine. specially one not modified for such equipment.
its possible just not easy

There's some great nitrous info in the archives. And with that, nitrous has no real use on the street.

This guy totally knows his stuff.

I tried to throw a whole bucket of nitro on my car. Big mistake. Who knew nitrous oxide and nitromethane weren't the same thing? ****, no wonder they just call it NOS.

You need nitroglycerine for that extra push.

Yeah, that will happen right after the Advanced Shepherding and Conestoga Wagon Maintenance programs are up and running.

no he wasnt. he was trolling you hard core.

its an easy thing to accomplish. you just need a wet system. make sure you have the appropriate mods to handle the extra 50 wheel hp.

by the way, rotaries love nitrous oxide.

It would be a good idea to run premium fuel if you plan to use nitrous.

You'd be in the special education program.

Good idea though it's not enough. Though there's an idea, you could run a little NOS if you increased the octane. Figure out how much NOS that is and you could have a minor boost without retuning.

Almost all nitrous syetsm are stand alone from the ECU, with a wet system delivering the extra fuel via the fogger nozzle through a jet, and a dry system through the EFI fuel injectors by increasing the fuel rail pressure with something like an FMU. Retuning the stand-alone helps build power under nitrous, but its not a necessity.

I'm not ripping on your car. I'm ripping on your ignorant post.
Don't like it? Here's an idea. Don't start typing about stuff you have no clue about.

Nitrous..good for College Hazing rituals.(inhale)
other than that, you put Nitrous on a Street car and you get your car taken away and more tickets than what was left over from a John Denver concert.
That is Why I went to a turbo swap.I wanna keep the car,and I hate John Denver..rocky mountain high my ***!

^your not really in the wrong, I was going the nitrous route, but seeing how much money had to be invested I went with the turbo swap route.

For the op, I ran a 125hp single fogger setup ona streetported 6port. Only used it on the strip. Would run colder plugs and retard the timing some at the track the set it back when I'd head home. Was fun but not as practical asa turbo setup.

Yes, you are wrong. There is no necessity for a stand alone engine management system with a good nitrous setup. For almost every nitrous set-up, the enrichment of fuel is not controlled by the ECU under nitrous injection.

Secondly, the original poster did not ask about turbo swaps. He asked about nitrous. It`d be like me coming into a post asking about turbo swaps and saying the person should do a V8 swap instead.

Thirdly, your post babbles on about the cost of nitrous. I can take a $500 brand new nitrous system, add a bottle heater, fuel pump and window switch for $250, and then go throw an extra 200 ft-lbs to the ground safely in an N/A car. Thats double the torque output of a stock TII engine. You can barely find a decent running TII longblock assembly for that price, and even when the swap is done, its going to be a huge amount of money to get to the same power level.
Without a doubt, nitrous is the least expensive way to add huge power.

I have no problems with modding turbo engines, or performing turbo swaps; I've done a few myself. However, I can't stand when people with zero experience such as yourself post misinformation.

Nitrous installs are illegal in your state?
