Newbie with a question.
I'm trading a guy I work with my 91 Ford Explorer for his
90 triple black RX-7 auto. My question is this car smokes
untill it gets real warm white smoke like oil smoke. I know nothing about rotary engines but I'm real handy with push rod engines is this smoking something terminal should I not trade. The car will be for fun I won't have to depend on it for daily use. If motor needs rebuild (basic stock) what kind of $$ are we talking?
Thank you for all your help.

Most rotary's smoke on start up.
Also if the injectors are leaking, the smoke may be caused by that.
And if worse comes to worse. it will cost about $700-$1000 just for the parts to rebuild the engine, and even more if you hire someone to do the work.

Must...scrub...parts...
White smoke would be coolant not oil. Try this: Open the fuse box in the engine bay near the suspension pillar on the driver side. Take out the fuse closest to the engine. Take off the radiator cap, and crank it. If coolant geysers out, the car definately has a blown coolant seal and the engine needs to be rebuilt.
