Newbie question

I have been watch the 3rd gen forum and I am aware of the problem with the 3rd gen car, but does the 2nd gen 7 have the same problem? I think I have run into a good deal on an 87 TT with 77000. BUt I want to know what kind of isssues they are know for and what to check out when I look at the car.

It all depends on the condition & maintenance.

Basically the 3rd gen is a low end supercar, the 2nd gens are mid-high sports cars.

The sticker prices and headaches follow the performance.

Bang for the buck - 2nd gen wins..

87s were single turbos stock. I would say check the compression to get an idea of engine condition. 100+ is good, the factory says 85 is minimum. Just watch what kind of, and how professionally mods have been done to it.

It all depends on how well they are taken care of, make sure you test drive it and check the turbo if its a running car, if not check the condition of the parts and definetly get a compression check done
