newbie but own rx7's since 79 still have 4/ need help

Ok guys Im new to your board. I have all of my Rx7's since 79 my first one is more of very first 79 actually apears to have righ hand drive cowl. anther 79,85,88turbo II

I have been fixing Rx7s since then but never got into the performance end other than headers on the old stuff and exh. For some reason for years I get called by local shops to come tell them whats up with them LOL

Usually winter when they have them towed in.

Anyhow I have had all mine in storage last 10 years maybe 7 for the turbo II had it out a few times.

Picked it up with blwn engine threw a factory rebuilt in. BTW has hesitation at WFO. at certain RPM. didnt matter gave to wife for work.

Well I'm going to pull it out this summer for driving wich gets me to my Q's.

I Own other cars also including a 03 cobra and 00 Saleen & older stang. The boost on the 03 cobra has me in more of the need for speed. I love the Rx7 cornering.

But I want the engine to throw more pwr out. Its just easyier to ask you guys what to search for in your threads and ask for advice I want to boost it up but not huge mod's Best to ask before re inventing the wheel

Thanks guys and dont give me a hard time ford stuff either.

How about simple boost mods to start with since wife will be driving this one while I pic things up.

Wheres the best place to look for parts these days and brand while keeping exhaust note quiet as possible

racing beat is a good start for parts www.racingbeat.com and a good intake and exhaust setup will enhance boost pressure a little bit. and you should also get an fcd once you start modding it

just checked it out. Man I have been out of the rotary world for awhile. Feel down right stupid. Im sure there are so many products that are just taking your money vs some with less flashy look for better price. Is there better air cleaner set up like are classified as CAI

Looks like dump the cats and new exhaust since mine is rusted, Anyone one have better hp than 7.3 or all hang about the same? or cheaper with out SS?

thanks for the sites post anymore for my reading pleasure lol Whats the avg age for the turbo owners on the board? The other thing is there allot of the 88 turbo cars out there. Never knew the prodution #'s

7.3 hp is for the cat back only. 59 hp for the full exhaust. Id also sugest upgrading your fuel pump, as well as getting a Fuel Cut Controller.

From there its possible to raise the boost more by adding a cone type intake. During this time you should also get some larger secondary injectors, and some electronic way to adjust them. You should also consider porting the wastegate, our you risk blowing the motor.

From there you could raise the boost to about 10or 11 psi, after that the stock intercooler starts to lose efficency(sp), and you would have to step uo to a Front Mount Intercooler. If thats still not enough come back and ask again.

EDIT: BTW im 23.
