Ok I know everyone has probobly asked this a million times but just haow hard is it to replace and apex seal. I am trying to buy a rx-7 (duh) and It has a blow apex seal, Ihis is known forsure. I lso would like to know how much factory ones cost cause i found some racing ones for 550. I rellay want to get this car no matter how much of a pain it may or may not be to rebuild bc I road in one for a year back and forth to school. I love it and I wasn't even driving it. This was the first time I had even heard of the is motor and 3 years later have fallen in love with it even more and am currentally trying to buy my own.

Um...if it is actually blown it won't be as simple as replacing the seal. You will more than likely need a new rotor and a new housing which means a total rebuild is at hand. Use the forum search tool, you'll find all kinds of info on rebuilds and builders.

Good luck.

sounds bout right for a set of apex seals.. ive seen them new from 400 to 600... u can also watch ebay... they comeup every now and again.... and secondly as for how difficult it is to rebuild? that depends on how skilled u are at it, allota guys here on the forum do it in a day or two... other fumble through it in a week or month... ur best bet, buy the atkins rotory rebuild video... i have that and its extremely helpfull, just do what he does, put a tv in the shot and have at her... btw there r other things that u have to replace other than apex seal... numerous gaskets and seals everywhere as well all berrings and spring berrings/seals... i hope i havnt discouraged u from nething tho, great cars, u just gotta love'm... lol good luck

new seal are only around 230.00 but you might need new springs corner seals all that fun, must of yours might still be reuasalbe though. How much are they asking for the whole car, add about a good 1500 to that to have a running car cheaper if you can do the work yourself. Like riverends said search that option is golden countless pages of good information on this site(well i supose you could count it but theres alot). I wouldnt pay more then 500 if its got a blown motor and in good shape
