Newbee ....just got a 87 FC

Well I am now an official RX7 guy, just got my first one, it's an 87 one owner with 79,000 miles. Bought it from my Aunt, and it is in great condition. Every thing works, and all stock, except after market radio. The only problem, is every now and then it stalles, that is the revs drop off very fast, and the idle circuit does not have time to recover??? I will try to post a picture I took, (not my house in background)

A full tune up is probably in order. Get the injectors cleaned and replace the oil pellet (probably about that time with 79k on the clock). You may want to check your TPS and also for any vaccum leaks while you're at it....

the oil pellet is located behind the main pully and it regulates oil injection into the e-shaft for lubrication of the rotors and such. Should probably replace every 70k or so....

It also might be an intake vacuum leak.

i don't think recommending an oil pellet change to someone who has just got an RX-7 is that great of an idea, plus the problem he described really has nothing to do with it.

yes, please do a full tune up (fluids, etc.).
you want to check for vac leaks first. does it "stall" under any particular circumstances? like while braking or anything?

Since nobody else said it, Welcome to the club, nice looking seven! I have two '87 na's, and I can safely say that replacing all of those old brittle cracked vacuum hoses makes a huge difference in running quality.

Good luck!
