Newb to rotarys
Newb to rotarys
Hey, looking to get my first rotory powered FC pretty soon. Looking for a ny tips on buying one, or anything?? Also, a friend of mine was saying that rx7s use MAP sensors, and that u cant mod them w/out tunning , like even adding an exhaust or intake w/ out leaning out???
Did you read the FAQ for FC sticky thread as noted in the section announcement (ALL MEMBERS NEW AND OLD: Must Read Before Posting in the 2nd Gen RX-7 section; Rules and Guidelines) at the top of this page? I am guessing not.
The FAQ for FC stickt thread (https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-faq-fc-494667/) found at the top of this section, answers many of the commonly asked questions, such as the ones you started this thread with.
And your friend is not a friend as he is lying to you. Don't listen to him.
The FC RX-7 does use a MAF sensor with the factory ECU, however for non turbos leaning out is what you want to do for increased power. The absolute last thing you would want to do is give it more fuel.
And of course being a MAF sensor, the ECU will compensate for most minor modifications such as new exhaust or intake without any issues.
But depending on what model you get, you may wish to stay away from some modifications (such as exhaust) until you understand more about rotary engines.
