Hope it's true, the last 22 y/o virgin I met was lying.
i found it on craigslist. and i asked the guy a million times if he knew where to find a new engine. no luck. he has tons and tons of mazda parts because he was (as he claims) "the biggest mazda dismantler in the world" and i dont think hes lying. he was really forthright about everything. the tranny has a little clear lubrication in it already but its a very thin coat (probably to preserve it im guessing).
anyway... enjoy the pics and anyone who has any good advice as far as how to re-lubricate for storage (if necessary), or anything i should take a look at to ensure that when i do need to install it, nothing will go wrong or be overlooked.
my ideal plan (since i recently got an exedy clutch kit & new seals installed) is to just keep this tranny in my room and slowly build onto it a new act street clutch kit & flywheel, driveshaft, tranny & diff mounts (while looking hard for a deal on a new or nearly-new motor for street port rebuild)... or just put it in when my current tranny dies. car has stock tranny & motor still with 110K miles.
