Hey You chose to be the middle man , not me.. you chose to " pass it on and Ill get back to you" not me.. So you throw a tantrum when I take them to task, through you.. it was your chioce to be in that postition.

As for parts coming out of here, I sure as hell DO make parts.. however I make 3D CnC cut moulds using ciba 450-500 tooling foam, aluminum..( and sometimes resin soaked MDF if the part is small and enough and it's a low volume pc.. ). for mine and generally sell to the aircraft industry.. Sure I've got NACA and CV ducts that are vac bagged CF & EPOXY!! that can be bought at a fairly good price...and I make custom parts for the odd customer who's willing to pay for it.. but I won't ever pump out cheap crap because I could..

So, now your pulling a suck routine and making me a bad guy becuse I choose not to proclaim your virtues and herald your hood as the next coming, but question and make others aware of the potential design flaws in the product.. and for that I'm a bad guy.. for possibly adding to others knowledge base..??

I'll be the bad guy any day over being your kind of 'good guy'

Plus we have hoods here at the shop on cars that have been installed for over 3 years with no fading, yellowing or 'sag'. Over a hundred FI hoods for the FC are out there right now. Haven't heard of any sagging. Could it be that this does not apply to their manufacturering process? Might be, since you have NO idea what their process is, right? Right. Maybe it's just a freak occurance in nature that happened over 100 times? Gee wizz I can't imagine what is going on. Maybe after the gazillion years that FI has been doing this yields more experience than the books you have experienced?

Of course NONE of this is really relevant here...since these hoods we are talking about are going to be FIBERGLASS. But whatever, I like to argue.

If you are reffering to me being rude, yeah I get rude when someone argues a manufacturer process with me when I am the seller, not the maker. That's like telling the 7-11 owner that Snickers should be made this way or that way. Think about it! Fiber Images number is 661-274-9500. Give them a ring and argue with them. Talk to Albert, who is the co-owner, and makes 90% of the products there.

Anyone can talk **** about how someone else's stuff sucks for this reason or another, yet we don't see anything product related coming from up there at your place do we? People wonder why no one even trys to make things for the FC...I give you exhibit A - doridori-rx7

I just got some CF parts from SMP...top notch quality I have no complaints and compared to the stock peices they sure do weigh a lot less.

I do plan on buying a LOT of other CF parts from SMP, they work great.

I've been a big supported of SMP for a while now and they have yet to let me or anyone else in my club down. That's why I'm so big on Dave getting the pictures of this new hood up so we can see it and start ordering it.

I'm either buying the CF Lip or CF Sunroof next!

Don't have enough money for a hood but when I do it'll be CF as well...god weight savings is an awesome thing.

Because you CAN go into a 7-11 and complain that their selection is poor. You can provide them feedback, on if the snickers bars their distributor has been sending them are generally bad. Those snickers bars reflect poorly on the 7-11 and may make people think their product sits on their shelf for a long time. You should still contact their distributor, and/or the makers of Snickers candybars.

That said, I would buy one of these hoods in a heartbeat. I've never heard of someone's hood sagging.

I wish I had some. I'll email Dave and see if he has any info that I can list here. Or maybe he can sign on and list the info himself.

all this talk of a FB hood and no specifics... no pics...

wil it weigh any less than an aluminum NA hood?
because if it wont weigh significantly less, I'm just going to modify my aluminum hood with a reverse vent to suck air out of the engine bay, back at the cowl and have a local aluminum welder finish off the welds and I can paint it myself... yes I know aluminum sucks to paint.

dont think I'm hatin, I WANT TO SEE MORE FC3S PARTS!

I'm not sure what happened with the Speed Machine hood. But I'm getting ready to PM you about another hood that will be out soon. Hopefully you'll like what you hear.

For anyone that is interested in a reverse vent fiberglass hood for the FC PM me. I have news on a hood that IS coming out for sure withing the next few months. I just don't want to mention someone else's company in this thread since the main topic was Speed Machine Performance. Most of you know what company I work with anyway.
