new turbo thoughts and opinions!???

So I was running a To4e 57 trim/Ptrim. 84 ar and I blew it to smithereens last week... I have an option to buy a bran new turbo off a friend who had a baby and cancelled his car building plans.. The difference on his turbo is Its a 1.12 a/r... Is going to be much slower spooling than what I had??? I liked the quick response I was getting with my. 84..
He will sell me this turbo for 200 bucks it's a garrett

What kind of turbo is it? The A/R is a ratio, so it is relative to a particular turbo.

It's a t04b 60 series compressor, 54 mm trim and a 74 mm turbine fan in the 1.12 a/r housing

sounds like a to4b-35 ( 1.15 housing )= V trim ( 54mm ) on a P turbine wheel..

a better turbo than the 57 when used at lower boost pressures
but at 1 bar about equals , then suffers more for air temps when used at higher boost levels

1.15 housing and P trim is a correctly sized rear for 350 - 400 rwhp levels
and V is correctly sized for 300 -350 at around 1 bar

all up possibly a better balance than before as the 57 is a 350 - 375 rwhp ( rotary ) compressor but the .84 with P trim is more like 300 - 325 rwhp before it begins to choke and force excessive backpressures and other bad manners
