Question New TII owner -> Did i get a good deal?

I just bought an '87 TII with only 60K original miles and a freshly rebuilt built engine. Paint is great and the interior is outstanding. I paid $6500, which seemed good to me, but many other people think I'm crazy. Just checking to make sure I'm not the crazy one.

I think it's a good deal if it's in good shape. Let's see pictures and welcome.

Here are some pics:
Rear Right
Front Right
The interior is perfect. The suspension and body are exceptionally good, especially for car with 60k milesThe car came with a 3" downpipe to a 2.5" exhaust, no car. Greddy blowoff valve and a K&N cone filter. The new engine has got a 1 year warranty, so that's cool. I think it was a good deal considering how much some of these are going for.

Its a great deal... besides its what you make of it. You have a great looking car to just cruise in or you can start moddin it. Either way you'll be happy with it

Looks like a good deal to me. I've seen people with more miles than that and charge more... Of course, they never sell unless they bring it down. But that's a really nice car from the pictures, hope you have fun with it.

The market has gone a little nuts in the d.c. metro area, Two people on the forum were able to sell similar cars for 8-9k recently. I've seen and heard other people buying/selling japanese sports cars for 150-200% bluebook. Norfolk is farther south, but close enough.

You are crazy.

$6500 is about twice the Blue Book value of that car. At least the engine is newly rebuilt, so it should last you another 100,000 miles. The car looks excellent.

What does "no car" mean? If it is a typo for "no cat", then how do you pass emissions?

The emissions issue is still in the works. Supposedly there's some sort of work around in VA that allows you to pay like $300 bucks and be emissions exempt. The dealer is willing to pay that or for new cats. I'd rather just take it to MD and get it registered there, where there are no emissions. I'm in the military so it's pretty easy to get it taken care of. As for the fuel, I have an A/F gauge on it, and it runs pretty rich at WOT, so I'm starting to think there's a lot more to this car than I think. I just found out it's got an FCD on it. Is there any way to tell if it has an aftermarket fuel pump or injectors?

Little much for an S4. Maybe an S5, but still a little steep even then.

Looks good though. Congrats.

I hate blue book values on the net... I mean... my car only has 38k miles on a '91 and they gave it like $700 more for the low mileage... it should be more like $2000!
