Also, are you going to wire it to the mazda electronics, as far as keeping the stock gauges. How much does that engine weigh, and what are your plans to beef up that front suspension?

Is the stock RX-7 radiator really cooling that beast down?

We want some vids man. Nice conversion and way to be different in the quest for real power.

I wouldn't be suprised if the stock RX-7 radiator is bigger than the stock Toyota radiator that engine used to be cooled by.

Its a 300 ZX radiator, no fire wall issues, and 12's would be nice!

Wasn't it sold in the US at the lexus SC series? Or was that the Soarer?

twin T-66's? seems a bit overkill to me and hellafied lag, a T-66 won't be spooling too fast on only 3 cylinders. I would just go with the T-78, or even something a bit more conservative like a T-61. unless of course you go with the ball-bearing T-78, then well, i would go with that.

Supras have come with inline sixes since day one... People have gotten over 1200hp on the 2JZ-GTE, the 3.0L that comes in the MKIV (93-98) Supras.

It's a 2JZ-GE, the normally aspirated 3.0 that came with non-turbo MKIVs.

Nice swap, but I personally dont see the point. Why not just build up the Supra?? Putting that motor in an RX-7 probably makes it close to the Supras weight that motor came out of. So with the swap you have a car thats as fast as a Supra with alittle weight reduction? I dont get it. Please explain it to me.

say hello to some high intake temps my friend.

I really do like the idea though, those are cool engines. not as cool as a 13bt, but still cool.

btw, nice racing stripes.
oh, and is that stock rx7 BOV routed down through a pipe so you can hear it better outside the car? wowsers.

if i was doing any engine swap, i'd make everything look as nice and clean as possible.
ps, i think that twin setup is way to complicated for the little engine bay and weird intake setup that you have to use with it in that little engine bay...

It still will not weigh anything close to what a MK3 supra weighs. A factory Mk3 turbo is around 3600 lbs. maybe more. PIG heavy cars. Here is a supra motor break down.
I will start when my knoledge does. IN 1986.5-92 models you got a 7M-ge (na~200 hp) engine. In the 87 -92 you could get the 7M-GTE motor (single turbo ~230 Hp) Both of those were 3.0 litre Inline 6's. There are some guys pushing over 700 RWHP through those motor's. Out of the US you could get 2 other engine options in that same generastion. A Crappy 1G series that was a 2 litre inline 6 (twin turbo or NA) but it was rated with little power and really sucked. Or you could get the infamous 1JZ-GE or 1JZ-GTE. The difference once again being turbo or NA. Both had 2.5 litre displacement but the turbo model was twin again. Unfortunately this set up was not an option in the US. The 93.5-98 Supra offered the 2JZ-GE and the envied 2JZ-GTE. Back to 3.0 litre and Twins on the GTE. The 1jz and 2jz are VERRY similar engines. Both are capable of some crazy power.

Ok, I understand the filter location sucks, like i have said 4 times now in this post that its not going to be there for long, the engine weighs 150 LBS more then a rotary. Supras weigh at 3800 at the track and my rx weighs 2800 at the track...?!?! how does it weigh barely less then a supra. It is not going to the out side or down it goes under my TEC3 coils which was the best place to suspend it, and if you would have read the post, I explain why it is looking a bit rough. is that an insult about my stripes?

Cool swap, although there looks to be height issues, thats the first alternitive engine swap that I have seen that appears to keep the feel of the RX-7 with the high reving and smooth I6 motor.

yes, it was an insult about the stripes. (but hey, atleast the car will be fast)

everything else rocks. especially the concept, its a badass engine and its going to be a fast car.

but what i was suggesting (about the air filter) is cant your just rotate the filter? so that it is sitting inside that hood scoop?

i agree... totally badass motor that isnt totally massive like the 3 liter supra one (2jzgte?)

i've always been a fan of I6 motors.

Nice swap man. It's nice to see a change from the V8 swap. I know of another Supra 7 that I saw at a battle of the imports in florida. It was yellow and it had a mariah body kit. It was set up for Road Racing, and from what I have heard it is quite competent.
