New Supra 7 is nearing completion!
Well Hear is the new Supra 7!!
Heres some of the specs on the motor.
1jzgte
2.5L Twin Turbo (2 x CT12A)
Raised Compression
Electromotive Tec3
That motor is a 1JZGTE and came in a couple cars, it came in the 91 -93 supras (JZA70) in Japan and Soarers(sc300) and Chasers(sedan). This one came out of a 95 Soarer and has the front sump oil pan(which actually ended up being more of a pain in the *** then the rear sump would have been) 2.5 Litre twin turbo(more like hair driers) redlines at 8500 and weighs about 150 LBS more then a rotary, 280 HP with 305 or so torque stock @ 8LBS . It has 3"(kinda) in and 3" out, HKS core #2 FMIC w/ custom Spearco end tanks, Electromotive Tec 3, Custom steering rack mount (manual), Custom sub frame middle section(not full rebuild, comming soon), Custom drive shaft, custom exhaust, custom IC piping, Getreg RS154 5 spd supra tranny w/ custom tranny mounts(6 speed will come with the next phase of the project), 300ZX turbo radiator, no sway bar for now + all the **** used to have on the car with my S4 and S5 motors. It is currently running 10LBS and has some traction issues due to the completely lateral and large torque curve that can be overcome with some compensation by the driver. It just needs a bit of TLC to clean it up again and should be ready to rock and roll. It has a turbo seal going out of the rear CT12A which has a ceramic turbine limiting it to 15 LBS before they shatter, which will expedite the single T66 process/Phase.

Sup, im not Supra7 on this board, but, there yallz go. It looks a bit rough in the pics, its because my fan was giving me some problems, so I had to regulate on it, which required taking off the shrouds and cutting some looms and new wires, ect. Ill clean it back up agian and take a nicer pic....its only been drivin for a week now, give me some time! BTW, I had the idea before the yellow one came out, so I didnt intend to be a copy cat, but after all, the first supra7 was done in flordia in 1994 with a 2JZGTE and a black second gen....its so hard to be origional these days! But mine is a bit different, and all of the work was preformed by me on a much lesser budget. So, with those things considered, it came out OK!

The intake temps are only at 30 degrees celcius, and no, its not, but by the time it gets warm enough to worry about it, ill have one big single on there and the filter else where.....and mostly, i ran outa 3" mandrell bends to complete that part of it

The filter isnt stayin there he ran out of pipe to make the TID..

its not worth the time or effort, thats just a temporary, its going to be twin T66 or a single T78 im thinking, and its going to come fast. The intake temps are nice and cool and it doesnt have a restriction problem, those turbos are TINY. The radiator is still unknown, but I will have to go bigger im about 400% sure.

Cool, just got here and already seeing something like home. The 1j is a great engine. I have tons of experience with the 7m and some with the 1J. My question to you is not by any means why. I have to ask about front suspension. How will the extra weight up front affect handeling and such. I do not know the weight distribution on the 7 yet but am thinking that may throw it off. What about springs and shocks? are you upgrading them? Good luck with it.

I think that's a fantastic piece of work. You get the benefit of the RX-7 styling, and the durability of a good ol' bullet-proof Toyota engine but then again, you do miss out on the fun and excitement of playing 'Why doesn't my rotary engine start?'

Interesting swap. This is one of the few piston engine swaps I would like. This still keeps the RX-7 classy, it doesnt degrade it like a pushrod cast-iron-powered country-bumkin V8-mobile.
Have you thought about relocating that air filter so it doesn't suck the heat straight off of those turbos?

Coool *****, guys. I love the toyota engine however I have but one question......I lost my 626 this weekend, not that I can't find the POS but some dumb bitch broadsided me and pretty much totaled the car. I have always loved the chaser model that Toyota remains in Japan. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a site that imported the cars or perhaps could point me to a place where I could purchase one......hmmmmmm drifting a 300+ hp boat of a car....always fun anyway thanks for any help guys.

Thats a stock RX-7 BOV by the way heh. the rotary only weighs about 150 LBS less engine and tranny because the rex tranny weighs less then the supra and the motor is a 156 LBS heavier. The car started out life as an SCCA car. I have enough stereo in the back to off set most of that and keep it close to its 50/50 and into traction. Custom spring rate Teins are phase 2 with the new tube sub frame and the 6 speed. With the torque that thing has it has a hard time not stepping out, so ill have to learn how to drift to be super successful with cornering it now.....playing chase with a 425 RWHP second gen (RX_Treme) last night and hung alright in the corners.....its not what it used to be, but alright.......until he would remind me that he is still faster than me and open up the ole external wastegate! The Gab super R's and a custom rate eibach set of springs handels it alright for now though, and no, that filter location sucks, but its going to change quickly.
