SPENG is alive and kicking. Just as promised, my adapter shipped out and arrived promptly today. I do not have the manifolds I want to use yet, so I can't comment on the port matching, but others in this thread have confirmed it's almost perfect.

I discovered no handling blemishes on my adapter as others mentioned. The black finish is very nice, center bores are smooth with very little variance.

My hardware was MIA, but Darin answered the phone right away and has hardware in the mail. I'm very satisfied with the service and product. I would not hesitate to use him again and I hope all the bad-blood out on the Internet is something that's long gone at this point.

I ordered mine back in August (order #94), and I still have yet to receive mine yet or an ETA. Not to mention I have called and left two messages and even opened up a support ticket.... any yet no response.

Not one to throw this card out there, but I'm thinking I got ripped off on this on.

Does anyone know this guy personally?
Any one with a similar issue?

I have found him on face book. I'm gonna try going right to the source.

I take it you didn't read the thread, I detailed almost exactly what you're experiencing and how to resolve it.

You want to contact his business partner, Marc Faris.

Marc answered his phone the second I called him and got things moving. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for hardware to show up after the first set got "lost" in the mail, and Marc only sent me part of what was missing (inadvertent, but still frustrating none the less). So I'm afraid it's a case of too little too late...I appreciate Marc's effort, but it seems like everyone is dragging their feet over there.

Dang. Some characters never change I guess. Hopefully you can get at least your money back. What's ridiculous is the fact that he seemed to show inventory of hundreds of these adapters, so where did they all go jf he can fulfill an order from August. SMH.

I ended up ordering mine from Reaction Racing and imported it through Jesse Streeter. It was about $330 but I like the design much more then the SP one and definitely less of a headache but it did take about 1 month.

Thanks for the help, My bad, I must of missed your post.
I have called Marc , no answer. I left a message.
Darin's mailbox is full so that was a dead end.

I will keep updating on this, hopefully I will have this resolved soon.

Marc is recovering from a heart attack...so that may have something to do with it. I hated having to bother him during that time, but it gets to certain point where he may be your only option.

I have been on the fence about ordering from their website, but I also don't want to not receive my order. I did find a guy that has this for sale on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/291600888776?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82
It's listed for $1490.00

I'm guessing that they messed up when typing the price, but I will admit that I have not contacted the seller, so I don't know if its a goof.

They've been up for a month or two now, Buy It Now they price it at $180. Looks to also be a copy of Rising RPM just like SPENG.

I am a long way out on my car, so I'll hold out hope for a reliable supplier, or just have the FD manifold welded and portmatched

There's no need for this, I have an s5 lim with an s6 uim all you need is to elongate the bolt holes and port match the runners.

You'll also need the fd oil fill neck assembly as the stock fc one will have clearance issues.

My lower manifold is strange. I bought an S4 gasket and the bolt holes didn't line up with the manifold (seller I bought it from said it was an S4). I returned it and bought an S5 gasket and all of the holes line up. The FD upper came off of a 97, but as I am aware, all FD uppers are the same. The bolt pattern between my lower and upper is close, but the primary runners don't line up well enough.

I need to spend some more time on it. I do wonder if it is truely an S4, but it has the air bleeds for the injectors, and all of my research has shown that S5 lowers have the bleeds and the S4 manifolds do not. I'm sure the manifold is also a JDM manifold, so that may be why it doesn't line up.

s4 and s5 manifolds are different . s5 has slightly larger runners than the s4. you probably have an s5 manifold, which is better than s4. It is also better for the fd upper because the angle is not as drastic

I'll take a look at it later. The S5 plenum gasket lines up perfectly on it, so I am operating under the impression that it is a S5. My car is a shell at this point, so I am not too worried about geting an adapter until I need it.

Well you are not wrong, provided you use a series 6 upper manifold. I picked mine up from a member doing a part out on an engine. Mine is a series 7 manifold. The portion of the manifold between the primary runners and across from the center bolt hole is cut away, for lack of a better term.

Here is a pic of my manifold.

And this is off of BLUE TII's car.

The difference is slight, but it doesnt give enough meat for the manifold to hold the gasket in place.

Here are some pics of the gasket on the manifold.

I'm not entirely certain what I will do, but it is a big problem. At this point, I may try and sell the manifold and buy a series 6 manifold and start from there.
Or, just get that spot bridged and milled flat.

Seems like it would be prone to leaking and blowing the gasket out. Definitely would recommend a custom adapter for S7 manifolds it seems.

In other news: New-New solution. Optional O-Ring Face as well.

Coming Soon.

ACR,
Instead of selling stuff to alleviate the problem just grab some gasket material and make them yourself.
I've done tons of upper gaskets. They are easy to make and you can leave whatever as overlap.

on the other hand that new part above looks like the Cat's *** too!..Meow Baby..lol!

Please tell me this will be offered at a similar price point as the previous solutions...It looks promising. Thanks for stepping up and filling the hole in the market.

Just to clarify, I am not making this adapter. It's being produced by a new company I have not heard of and they are still in prototyping stages it seems. Personally, I've thought of having this made ever since the Rising RPM unit went out of production, but I ended up getting a hold of the SP Eng. unit so I didn't follow through with the idea.

Didn't mean to be misleading, but again, I am not making this part. We have other fish to fry
