New shocks with new Eibach springs?

New shocks with new Eibach springs?
Ok I just got my income tax back and have a few hundred dollars in my bank. After all my go-fast mods I decided to buy something to improve the handling. My question is, with these springsEibach Springs do I need to upgrade my shocks to aftermarket ones?

well how new are the shocks that you have on the car....thing is if you know that they're fair i would recommend changing them reason is that when those shocks go bad, you'll have to remove the susp. and change the shocks when you could have done it the same time when you change the spring....usually it's the other way around, when you change the shocks, you would check the springs cause if the springs are weak it will kill the shock......i'm currently using eibach springs with kyb adjustables.....rides and control good.

When I changed the struts in my 86, the strut rod fell into the housing and wouldnt come out until I pulled it out.
When I changed my 88TII springs and struts, the same deal happened.
Plus.. its so time consuming to put on new springs, may as well put on new struts while your at it.
I put on the eibach prokit with tokico non adjustables. Ride is tight and firm, but will give a little to much in the front in a hard 90 degree corner. If I had to do over again, I would put adjustable struts in the front or on all 4 tires.

I agree with the other guys. If you have more than 80k on the struts then the new springs could be too strong for them. Most people won't notice, but if you push the car you will feel it.
I have the Eibach Pro-Kit and KYB AGX's on my 87. Pretty good combo. The springs are progressive so my experience with them is that they are probably a bit 'soft' for track day type stuff. And it's not a good idea to crank up the struts to compensate for springs not suited for track use. But if you get those springs, then you could just get stock replacement KYBs for less money.
If you have alot of miles on the car, you might think about new upper strut mounts for the front. The old ones can be pretty tired and weak.

ya know, a GC coilover conversion is only 300 I'd say get the GC kit (comes w eibach race springs) and non-adjustable KYB's or tockico's for an inexpensive coilover system.
