New Seats!!

well today i bought some mazdaspeed replica seats from jeremy(TurboSmoke). they look awsome. installing was a total PITA and im not even done yet. i was gonna use the rails that came with it but i didnt want to drill through the body and i couldnt really find a spot to mount them so they would go all the way through the body. so then i though ok ill use the stock rails. but they dont fit, so i hade to drill new holes in them. then i droped one and the slidder was broke. so i was gonna go back to unversial rails, then i figured i would use stock mounting brackets welded to unversial rails then after cutting out the brackets, went to welding shop but of course they are closed. but i remmeber i have a parts car out back and i got stock rails out of it. then finally got it to work. or you would think.... the new seats have a narrower mounts, so where the seats moutn up the brackets dont fit they are like an inch to narrow, so i need to make a new mount on my floorboard. sorry if i confused you.
but anyway here are the pics.

JdM TyPe ARRRRRRR YO!!!!! lol i jsut thought the box waas too funny

comparsion to stock seat, its got alot more padding

only the passenger seat is mounted, and its only mounted with 2 bolts, the driver seat it just set in thre for the pic

last one, i really like the seats, now i just need to finish building motor to put them to the test.

$300 isn't bad at all...i think i will consider these instead of the Sparco's i wanted. they definetly look wicked...

just make sure you get that bolted in right before you go drifting yo!

edit: can you buy these from a distributor, or did you just happen to get them off someone who had them?

those look cool, i got a pair of the sparco knockoffs from ebay. it was a PITA for me as well but i ended up using the stock rails with a few spacers on the passanger side to make the seat sit even.

i've always thought that you could juse use the stock seat rails and weld some new points onto the rails so they will bolt to the new seats.

did you think the seats were just gonna bolt right up?

the 2 inch spikes on top of my head dont hit the roof... but im only 5'6". i had some people that are like 5'9" or so in the passanger seat and they dont have a problem though.

on the drivers side i would beable to remove some spacers(VERY thick washers) that are in there to lower them about 1/2 and inch, but for the passangers side it is as low it itd go without being crooked because of the tranny well.

on mine i was able to use the stock seat rails by just redrilling new mounting holes and i have the plain ebay ones from Auto-unix.
