im new here and new to these cars. i own a 1990 GXL coupe with a 5 speed and i have a few questions to ask.

1) i need a vacuum diagram to find out where the hoses go to. i have one that is sitting loose and i dont know where it goes. i searched but only came up with the turbo diagram.

2) i have a weird transmission noise also, kind of scraping noise when the clutch is out. I can't hear it from the outside but its noticeable inside the car. i also own an integra that has this kind of noise but it is the main input shaft bearing. could it also be the same with the seven?

3)what options came in the GXL trim? i want to put in a stereo and noticed that it has speakers in the doors and dash and rear. what sizes do need? how do i know if my car came with factory amplifiers?

4) my oil smells like gasoline, its a very strong smell. what could cause this? the car smokes a little on start up but then goes away after a second and the smoke is black in color so i know its from excess fuel.

1) there is one on the hood

2) input shaft bearing/ tranny mount

3) the normal/sport button near shifter... read the faq for everything else

4) read the faq and search. also if your oil smells like gas... maybe you should shange the oil...

 

1. Check the FAQ as I believe there is a link to the FSM...

2. Sounds like the input bearing or the release bearing...

3. FAQ has the answers... For speaker sizes, search the audio section... The stock stereo was amplified...

4. Welcome to the world of rotaries... Could mean wear on the internal seals and/or o-rings... OMP could be a culprit as well...

 

im new to this car not cars in general, im actually very experienced in fixing cars.

i looked under the hood first because most cars have them there and no luck, i guess it got ripped of or somthing.

i asked about the speaker sizes because most sites list different sizes for the coupe model.

i know its good to change the oil if it smells wierd im just wondering what are some causes.

 

Oh and once you do a tune up on it, get a compression test...

 

someone drove the car after they changed the oil....

 

no... really, i would have never figured that out.
