new to the rx7,smoke from the turbo area

hi everybody,i recently traded my turbo integra for an fc turbo 2,i just finished putting a new gasket between the downpipe an exaust connection it was leakin ,i noticed that smoke started started commin from under the downpipe.the guy said that the car needs a catch can because its pressurize.does this make sence?im new to the rx7's so any help would be aprecciated

Smoke from the turbo area is most likely from a leaky oil line; probably just an old gasket.

What did he say the catch can was needed for? Coolant overflow?

he said "the oil thing was pressurized,an he was going to buy a catch can but never had the time to, an if i wanted to put one just remove the thing on a nipple where the oil neck goes down to,it should be on the dark grey iron"
