Hello I'm looking into getting an FC, I'm selling my 01 Civic for one. I've been looking into them for a long time so some advice from the pros would really help. I know it's a whole new world from me, so I guess there are two different types Turbo and NA I would really like a Turbo but having problems finding one for my price range here in Long Beach. So if I buy an NA how hard is it to but a turbo on it, or do a swap, it's a lot of money though. I'm a college student so at the time trying to stay cheap but any advice, or even if someone is selling one let me know. Thank you.

You are going to get alot of reply's telling you to search.
The swap to a turbo engine is pretty straight forward.

If you have an 89-91 model, it is basically a plug and play, the 86-88's need some wiring and such done.

Just don't buy a J-spec turbo engine.

A swap will cost you $3k if you don't rebuild the engine and $4.5k+ if you do rebuild it. It'll be much easier / cost effective to buy a TII.

I've compiled a whole lot of price lists, factored in with shipping, and I've never seen a basic TII swap cost 3k or 4.5k.

But yeah, just wait it out for a hell of a deal. You can come across some great deals if you just look around

as a side opinion, i read that you are a college student.. and selling a really reliable 01 civic for a rotary. i mean, you got *****! :P i'd say save up and buy a turbo and save your civic. unless you really want to get one.

there are members flaming you already, but dont let that get you down. i found a 3000gt guy who joined long time ago who got flamed to death by everyone, he left a message to all RX7's and i guess rotatries here that we're all big jerks and so so. but hey that well but that's everyones job here. just so you get to know the forum.

and turbo kits, yes there are custom kits and there are swaps. mostly everyone would tell you if you are going to turbo the NA. get a Turbo 2, go out of state if you have to. use the 2nd gen RX7 cars for sale section, or local craigslist: that's where i bought my RX7s, one NA GTU and T2(turbo).

also, there arent just two types... it goes by series and model type.

S4 1986-1988
SE
GTU
GXL
T2

S5 1989-1991
GTU
GTUs
GXL
T2

dont think just because they look a like, everything will plug and play. some will fit and most things wont fit. all the new, present, and past owners probably had this issue.

anywho, good luck if and when you get one... and here's a useful link:

https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/frequently-asked-questions-2nd-generation-rx-7-faq-fc-494667/

it's a bundle knowledge pack, it's self explanatory.

this first one is if you buy a NA but want to turbo:
http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/naturbo.htm

this is how to buy one:
http://www.aaroncake.net/rx-7/buy1.htm

even though it says for non turbo, i think it also relates to getting a turbo model.
