Wink New to RX7

Hi all I just didn't know where to post this so.. This is kind of a hello with a question.

I just found rx7 site recently. About Xmas time. I haven't been active since then but I just decided to come on and learn about the RX7s. I just have 1 simple question that most of you probably can answer: is it possible to buy a well running FC for under a grand? It doesn't have to look nice but just a well running FC? In So-Cal area by the way. If anyone can answer, thanks, and hello to the rest of the community~

You might be able to find one with bad paint for that price. Most that are priced that low have blown/poor running engines, bad drivelines, or some other serious problems. But you never know, some people get lucky and find a decent car for really cheap.

it depends.. you just gotta look at the cheapest one you find and decide for yourself if its worth it..

A cheap rx7 may not be a gem... Id imagine an early 86 base 4 lug model with a bad engine being that cheap.. to someone who doesnt know much abbout rx7s, they might jump on it thinking its a good deal.. Thats probably the least desired model and could be a headache since its 4lug, single piston brakes, etc.

I would be pretty hard finding one for less than $1K. I bought my 87 for $700 with wornout paint, a broken driveshaft, broken shifter housing, and a really messed up interior. But the good thing was that the engine ran fine. Probably spent about $600 in fixing it up.

You never know what kind of "finds" you could run across... however you live in an emissions not friendly state so the odds for finding something cheap that will pass emissions starts to go down pretty fast. the rx-7 has like 3 catalytic converters on it stock that are very expensive to replace. Much more than $1000. so you are kinda screwed in that respect. There are various means to combat this problem, but never the less it will be a major factor.

I saw those 2. But... The thing is, I don't know what type of fuel problem the car has and when I called the guy, he wouldn't answer.

Also, the other one, it has no pink slip. Enough said.
