Just bought my first rx-7. Its a 1988 base model with 210xxx kms on the body and about 5xxx km on a brand new engine (have receipts from previous owner as proof).
It needs a little TLC like 2 new front fenders because of dings and a little bit of rust (one fender is screwed from an accident though but the body is still straight etc. Thats been checked out too). I found a GXL parts car with the fenders and interior pieces I need but from what I have read this car also has an LSD rear end.
What else, besides the pumpkin, would I need to grab off of the GXL (halfshafts, drive shaft, hubs?) in order to beable to properly install the LSD on my car. I did a search for it and came up with a thread reagarding this and a GTU though, but I still wasnt sure if it was the same. Also besides changing out the diff oil what else would need to be done to either the differential or my car in order for it to all work properly? Or is this basically a "Plug and play" swap?
Any help is appreciated as I am just learning about my car.
P.S Besides a good tune up is there anything else I should do to the car maintenance wise? Winter care?

Lots of people swap thermostats, tires (winter tires are a *very* good idea, especially on RWD cars!) and fluids (different coolant\water ratio and thinner engine oil). You probably already knew this, however
Take care of rust ASAP, melting salty road snow won't do good in the long run.

Another thing. I called the local Mazda dealership for a quote on a tune up for the car, including oil change, and i was told it would be around 450$ CND. This, to me. sounds rediculously over priced when labour would only be 1.5hr = $120 CND. I was also told spark plugs are around $25 CND each. Does this sound rediculously over priced (for the whole tune up) or is that roughly what i should be looking to pay? If thats the price i have no problem paying it but it sounds kind of shady to me.
