new to the rx-7 family

hey guys, are you ready to hear some of the dumbest questions to every reach this forum? yesterday i bought my 86 n/a rx-7. how can i find out with model my rx-7 is and the specs and how it compares to the other model rx-7s. also many of you have owned your car or cars for years now, and i would like to use your experince to help me. first off, my shifter has a great deal of play to it, making it a little harder to find the gear, is this bad? should i replace it asap? if so do they make short shifters for my car? now, on to the next issue; exhaust... i do hail from pa so i need to be able to pass emissions. but i would like to know what looks/sounds good. i like the deep sound, a rumble as if the car has a huge pair. i dont want it to sound like your average honda. i like my car like i like my girlfriend, very pretty so where can i go to find all the cosmetic junk. i have only seen one body kit and was curious to know if there were more. last but not least i would like to have 3rd gen rx-7 taillights or skyline taillight molded on so i was wondering if anyone knew where i can pick them up at. sorry for all the text but thank you for reading, and may this help anyone else with the same questions.

Every one of your questions have been asked and answered before. You should read this thread:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=59758 and use the search function found in the upper right hand corner of the page.

But the short and sweet, to find out what model you have you will need to tell us what is on the car... perhaps this will help:

The shifter bushings are probably worn or broken, they can be replaced cheaply with new parts. Here is a link on how to do it:
http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/shiftbsh.htm

As far as body kits there are probably at least 20 or so, but radical changes such as moulding in tail lights from cars other than a FC is generally not satasfactory and mostly frowned upon by the RX-7 community.

ahh yes that would be what i was looking for a spec chart. very helpful and thank you. i do apologize for the rerun of questions, why i would think that i was special enough to be the first to ask is beyond me. i will use the search function. like i said before i'm new to this forum and rx-7s so if you would care to clue me in on what FC stands for i would be greatfull. as for the tail lights it is understandable that it would be frowned upon because it is a rx-7 and not a civic and to destroy such beauty should be a crime but alas customization and having something a bolt on part cant give you puts a smile on my face. but thanks for your opinion and do remember i could have asked if they made altezzas for it!
