you are going to have LOTS of fun with that tire size. Hope you don't have a lowered car. ^_^

What are you talking about? 205/40r17 is actually over 1 inch shorter in diameter than stock! I hope his car is lowered, or its going to look rediculously stupid. Hes going to have more wheel-gap than our cars do originally. And as to the original poster, why do you want that tire size anyway? A 215/45r17 is about exactly the same diameter as stock, and you actually get a slightly larger tire with it. Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I dont see the point in going with a larger diameter wheel when the width is the same as stock. Youre getting no performance increase, and now have heavier wheels....

hahahha PWN3D

and 17 x 7 +40?

that is a really wack width and offset. Minimum width you want for an aftermarket rim for FC is like 17 x 8 +38

that's going to sit really lamely on the car...it's going to be sunken into the wheel well

Yea.. a size that is taller and wider than the 205/40s that the original poster is asking about...

Its only going to be in 2mm more than a stock Turbo2 wheel. I agree that I would want a wider wheel with a lower offset, but this will work fine, and look about stock.

like Rxmfn7 said, mine are actually bigger
the first number is the tire width, and the second number is the height of the sidewall, and the last number tells you the size of the wheel

nice try, though...

And that's exactly my point. The size you have on your wheels is MUCH more correct than 205/40/17. Yours is very close to the diameter of the stock tire. IaMtHeRuThLeSs1 is going to experience inaccurate speedometer readings where he is going to be moving slower than what the speedometer indicates. Also racks up miles much faster. And actually... the second number is the aspect ratio of the tire with respect to the tread width.
