New Pressure plate or not?

first off, sorry for such a newbie question..
I got a GXL and just had the engine rebuilt, but before returning the engine to the car I need to know if I need a pressure plate.. The clutch disc is in the later part of its life so I'm going to replace it regardless.. but I have no idea if I need to do the pressure plate..

it does have a little bit of notching [tell me if you need a pict] on the fingers..

The car's a GXL with a normal rebuild [no power mods] [though I was considering megasquirt I really don't know how to possibly go about it..]

Oh one more thing.. most of the intake system that I could see was kinda nasty.. [the inside], is there an easy way to clean it out?

Thanks!

From Shucks or napa or someplace online...?

[I assume it's not much more to get the whole kit as opposed to just a clutch disc and throwout bearing?]

get a complete kit since most brands will not keep the warranty if everything is not replaced.

For cheap $$ stock replacement clutch kits, go to napa auto.

If you consider the disc in the final stages of it's life, consider the pressure plate the same. The springs become weak from heat, and as the pilot bearing and throwout bearing should be replaced, time for a new pressure plate. As they are relatively inexpensive, the installation of new parts will save you a great deal of aggrevation in the future.
