Allright Hermit! I now consider myself officially flamed. I agree that reading the FAQ and having some basic auto mechanics knowledge would help the forum overall.

The reason noobs ask stupid questions, probably even after reading the faq, is that when you are unfamiliar with something it's hard to be certain that you're having the same problem that is being described as a common issue. Instead of being juvinile and flaming them, either ignore the thread or just anwser the freaking question.

What is the point of this forum if no ones allowed to ask questions? Who is to say whether a question is stupid? Do you really think that a problem is going to come up that hasn't been brought up on these boards in the last 8 years? This place didn't get to be as big as it is now by flaming everyone that doesn't have 5000 posts. My first post 3 or 4 years ago on these boards had to do with an oscillating idle, and no one flamed me, but offered suggestions to help me diagnose the problem. One of those people were right, and a new TPS and the car was rolling again.

This is one reason I, and people like me, just lurk anymore. I come here to read, and to help others. Some people would just rather be juviniles making fun of other people fo no reason...

And stuff is a noun...

I don't see anyone being flamed. This discussion was started with an idea in mind. There are people on here who are here to help others with RX-7's. It's just wasting time when a thread gets posted asking how to put in a new headlight or something. That is just general automotive knowledge that people should know before they join a car club and think about modifying their car.

This whole thread is about people getting flamed, and you can't make someone take a test before joining a supposedly open internet forum like this. If no one wants to read the FAQ and asks a "stupid" question, ignore it and it will eventually leave the fron page and be forgotten.

I think this thread has pretty much outlived it's usefulness...
