New paint!

Well, not quite. I want to have my car repainted as the stock 20+ year old paint doesn't hold its luster as it used to. This is just an everyday daily driver/weekend warrior. I'm not looking to spend insane amounts of money, just enough to have the entire car gleaming again. What is the ball park figure that you have spent on your paint? Again, I'm not talking about showroom quality. I'm talking about your basic spray. Anything I should save up extra for? Coats of paint? Clear? I'm an open book.

You could probably restore the factory paint with some elbow grease. Get a good fine pain polish and a clay bar and it'll look good as new. It isn't hard to get the oxidation off of single stage paint that they used back then. New Finish works very well at restoring the luster if you don't want to work as hard and then use a premium wax afterward.

Nah. Car has original paint. My paint is definitely oxidized in a few areas, and does carry a few dings but nothing too major, I think. The only rust visible that I see on the body, would be the sunroof.
