Question New Owner Question

I am the proud owner of a white, 5-speed, 89 rx-7 convertible. Other than a fuel-cut-off switch, it is bone stock.

My main questions are:

1)What type of air filter/intake to use?
2)Are the adjustable strut tower braces on Ebay any good?
3)Where can I get a pair of decent mufflers for cheap?
4)I also want to upgrade the stereo. Is it hard to put a cd/amp/subs setup in this car? The trunk seems a little small.

If you're going to upgrade your sound system, please please PLEASE don't get massive dual 12" subs. Get a nice single 10" JL audio and a good amp and build them into your storage compartments - less weight and good clear bass.
Also, if you're going to upgrade your 4 other speakers, i would suggest building them into the doors, not under the dash. However, if you don't want to do that, replace the stock 4" ones.

er, one more thing: BestBuy's Vehicle Fit guide is wrong, they're 4" speakers, not 5.25"

Hope this helps!

4"??? I'm not sure I can listen to Motorhead on those....

If the ebay strut bars aren't any good, where can I get a decent one? Are there any companies out there that make nice, solid, one-peice bar w/o the little adjuster things on the sides?

On a side note, I think the master cylinder needs to be replaced because the power brakes aren't very powered.

grats on the vert.

yeah the stock stereo was/is weak. Your luck it is still working on yours though. Water leaks so bad through my roof, there are puddles in my kick panels and I had to unplug the interior fuse. wether that has to do with the puddles or not, I don't know. I'll be fixin my top shortly though.

When you get a chance, post some pics and details on the purchase... mileage, price, problems.

Cusco makes nice strut bars for the FC... imo

try nopiperformance.com or optauto.com

I have a feeling your going to need to replace a lot more than the master cylinder for your new RX7. Just be prepared to spend money on the car... wether it be fixing or upgrading.
