Where at in Upper Michigan? I live up there, not often anyone mentions that place. If you go through Iron Mountain at all, chances are you'll see one of my many FC's.

As far as tips for maintaining a stock car, it's much like any car as far as the basics. I have an 88SE, so I know where you're coming from. The major tip i'd give it make sure the pulation damper is good. The last thing you want is something that special to you catching on fire. There are tons of sites and posts about this, so you can get a good feel for it. Make sure the grounds are good, filters, vacuum lines, all that jazz. While you're checking out the pulsation damper (or removing it like I did), I'd probably have the injectors replaced or cleaned, they tend to leak. The throttle posiition sensors on these cars are finiky, again, there are tons of sites and posts about them. As far as the body goes, good luck, everyone does it differently. Also, the camber on my rear wheels (I did a full swap from a GXL just to get the AAS and LSD) tends to go out fequently, end links are pretty well shot. The oil metering system should be fine (should, but we all know, should often does not happen), but i'd check it anyway. Aside from all that, just keep an eye on everything, run a good grade synthetic oil (like redline or royal purple, and yes, I said synthetic, it works nicely), decent gas and it should last you a good long while.

Well, I am finally back with my RX-7. Here is a picture of it getting ready to tow.

Now that I safely have it in my possession, I can write a bit more about it. I am sure some of you saw this car on ebay. The guy wanted way too much for it. I was able to talk him down. It is as mentioned a '88 GXL, and it has documented 28,000 original miles on it (I have all the documentation, including all service invoices). It even has the original tires, and wipers. I am going to get all the mechanicals checked out on it, because of age. But, with having driven it, it seems perfectly fine mechanically (just seat of the pants feel). It is fully loaded with every GXL option for '88.

Other than a few scratches in the paint, the cars looks brand new. I will get all the scratches fixed in the upcoming month.
