New na need help- low rpm hesitaion
New na need help- low rpm hesitaion
88 na just rebuilt- atkins rebuild
All emission removed
Tmod
intake
header- i built, looks freakin awesome- but i put the 02 sensor on the collector about 2 ft back from the engine-?
full exhaust
large sp- 5th and 6th ports gone
fidanza 8LB FW
clutchmasters stg 2
warlboro 255
It starts right up every time and immediately revs smooth, but wont idle(once in a while it will-I think 3 times in the 100 miles ive put on it). Once it gets going it gets choppy at low throttle low rpm- but when you step on it it goes good. Its terrible driving nice through town i have to rev it to about 3 just to get it to come out of it. To me it sounds like its running rich, dont get how though. Like I said I cant figure out why it has such bad hesitaition low rpm and sounds so choppy. Underlight throttle cruising too. But when it get goin or anything above 40 drives pretty smooth.
My compression is good
triple checked for vac leaks any help?

With that mod list... I'd say adjusting your TPS is your only bet.... I would just be happy with a shitty idle considering how much air you are getting at idle. No emissions... headers.... large street port..... I think a rock solid idle is asking a bit much.
You might want to make sure everything's in spec while you're at it, especially since it's a new rebuild, and you've done the TB mod. I might check for error codes, set your idle mixture, idle speed, and adjust the TPS. I hate to say it, but don't discount vacuum leaks just yet. Make sure the vacuum lines are routed correctly (since you took all missions off). Cleaning your fuel injectors won't hurt either. I might also verify that the AFM is working correctly, because I've heard that the AFM can cause low speed issues, though I have no experience with that.
Pretty much everything I mentioned is covered in the community service manual.
Do the hesitations happen under acceleration, or just at idle?

hesitations happen under accel- i am not asking for a rock solid idle- i cant drive this thing around drives like **** in light driving cuts out and hesitates. when i step on it it goes and sound great when you rev it up, but just terrible under light driving and light throttle.
today I double checked the tps and its adjusted- did it after i warmed it up right after rebuild.
The injectors i had in the primaries didn have any #'s on the them- the secondaries had 19550-1350 or close to that. i have about 10 old injectors lying around, so i swaped them out wil a pair that i knew were 440cc cause i dont know what those other ones are and i think its running rich. So when i started it with the ones i put in it was only running on one rotor. Then i took those out and put a diff. set in- ran terrible but on both rotors. then i took those out and put another set in and same story. gay as hell so i quit there for the night. I tested all the injectors before i put any of them in and they all click when hood up to a battery- but none of the checked out for resistance. I figured at least one out of 10 was good but since they didnt test out i assumed my tester sucked. i would get a reading right when i touched the prong to the injector but then it fades down to 0.
