I need to replace my muffler, they're rusted out. Want an aftermarket one, and recommendations? I'm probably getting Dynomax Ultraflows, they've been recommended to me by a lotta ppl, does anybody have soundclips of different muffler sounds?

also might get a catback system instead, wut exactly are the advantages/disadvantages, my bro got a cat back and it's waay too loud now, so i'm kinda hesitant about that. I don't want it crazy loud, i wanna still hear my music.

 

If you are still running a stock system with cats then adding a cat back shouldnt make it any louder. Tone might change but not loudness.

Racing beat makes good quality systems for both n/a or turbo. There are others for lower costs as well.

Give more specifics about your car and what your intentions are with the car. AutoX? Drag? Street? Emissions? Etc. You will get a lot more help that way.

 

You CAN change the tone of the exhaust drastically by putting an aftermarket catback(non stock) exhaust system on. The mufflers make a big difference. Its all about how the silencers are set up. If there are no silencers there is going to be alot of noise.

And you CAN remove your cats without making any extra noise but the piping has to have a silencer to muffle the noise.

The advantages of getting a bigger piping exhaust system is that it allows for more and quicker airflow which creates more HP.
