New motor wont idle
Ok so this is my first engine swap. Its a 87 13bt stage 2 street port, 3mm apex seals, race bearings, light weight flywheel. Its a new motor from hayes, I took the egi inj fuse out and turned it over until it started to show oil press, then i put it in and it started right up, I have no oil leaks, no water leaks..but i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running, it will not idle by itself. First i was thinking it just needed to run all that assemblie lube and **** out but it ran for a good 30 minutes since i propped a hammer on the gas so it would idle. I have triple checked for vaccum leaks and such...The timing is set, The only thing i can think of is maybe setting the butterflies??? Anyway, any ideas would help. my brain hurts from doing this for the past 16 hours!!!
Thanks guys.

Sounds like you got it figured out. Set the idle and idle mixture from the fsm at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/ section 4B. But you probably have a manual already. The only other thought is to go to the throttle stop screw and turn it in just a hair so it will idle by its self while you do other things. Screw is under the intercooler. aft side of the throttle body, identified by the 8mm jamnut on the tiny screw that needs to be turned in just a hair. But you know that. Did you try to turn the bac idle screw out a touch or turn the variable resistor to the rich just a bit? To get the idle up a bit?
