i jsut put a newer 13b in my 88gtu and she starts up every time, but dies after about 10 seconds. Is there any kind of spark cut or knock sensor that might be not connected or something, because there is still fuel...what do you guys think?

 

Just to check the easy stuff first, jumper the yellow 2-pin plug near the pressure/ boost sensor on the right strut tower, start her up & see if she keeps running...If she does, you've got a bad AFM...

Are you mixing ECU/harness/engine combinations?

 

What I did, was I bought an 89 core and had to strip it down to put all the 88 stuff on it. so I am using the 88 wiring harness and ecu. I also don't have the exhaust hooked up or a thermostat installed. What is the "AFM"?

 

this car is non-turbo so what could be the problem?

 

The AFM is the silver box under the air filter. Your car will not run unless the ENTIRE intake system is intact.
