New motor install then no power to fuel pump? Anyone?

Ok, i just installed my new motor in my n/a 90. Everything appears fine, but the fuel pump is'nt getting power. Does anyone have an idea as to whats going on? It worked when the car was shut off, not now.

I removed the pump and put power to it, and it worked just fine. SO the pump is good, just that its not getting any power.

I don't know if this is related or not, but soon as you hit the key, you can hear the bac vavle working. Is this normal?

Thanks CJ

First check: If you turn the ignition on and ground the yellow 2-wire test connector, does the fuel pump turn on? If it does, you have an ECU problem, the same relay you are energizing is the one that the ECU should turn on when the engine is running. This same relay is used when cranking the engine, but the test connector does not test this.

If the fuel pump does not turn on, the relay in question is either missing, defective, or has no power to it (circuit opening relay); or the fuel pump resistor relay is either missing or defective. If the circuit opening relay pin A shows 12V with the test connector jumpered, the circuit opening relay is ok, and the fault lies in the area of the fuel pump resistor relay. Otherwise, it is a circuit opening relay problem. Good luck!
