Cool New member and a few questions

Hello I'm new to this board and had a few questions if you guys could answer them.

First of all I bought my 87 RX-7 8 years ago and still have it. I was wondering how long these rotary will last mileage wise. I bought it with 120,000 on it and have 171,000 now on it. The previous owner I bought it from had every receit from a oil change and everything else he has done to it. And he took it to the mazda dealerships everytime. He was also the original owner. I was just curious, because I will like to make more joy trips in it, but been hesitate to do so since its my only car and don't have money for a new one. ITs been the best car I've owned and do get on it once in awhile but thats what its for right. By the way its stock.

I was also wondering is their anything you could do or unplug so it won't start if you let it sit and not worrying about it not being stolen? I would appreciate any input or responses very much. I never knew how they were so popular to steal until I brought it in and they told me to becareful, because they get stolen all the time. I already bought a club since then but I know if they want a car that much, a club is nothing. Thank you very much.

At 171,000....That's about when I started saving up for the rebuild, did it at 185,741...She was losing compression fast at that point, still ran good, though...

You could pull the fuel pump connector, under the carpet, at the left rear strut tower, if you're talking long-term sitting, or just pull the plug off of the fuel circuit opening relay, under the dash to the right of the steering column...Better yet, install your own fuel pump cut-off switch- look at Kevin's website (rotaryresurrection.com) for a good writeup on this...

If it's still stock you're going to be dealing with a clogged cat pretty soon...You'll know it when it happens

Welcome...
