New to me 89 Rx7 GXL
Hey, new here, just got 1989 Rx7 GXL. The car looks and drives OK, the biggest issue that I can see is the fluctuating idle. Hopefully basic tuneup and some adjustments will take care of it.
Anything I should know in addition to above? This is my firs rotary and "I don't know nothing"

fluctuating idle during when.... cold or hot?
if it's during cold, it's part of the cold start system, or whatever you call it...
if it's during hot... then you have a problem :P
and, there's a second gen information thread stickied in the archives. i suggest you read it, if you dont know anything about the rotary.

You're on the right track - TPS adj. problem is common. Keep reading the FAQ's, stickies, and FSM (factory service manual). For the FSM and stuff, see here (there are other pages if you search the forum):

Thanks, I have been reading FAQ, but have to spend some time with the car, because the info is so overwhelming that without hands on, you forget everything you read.
And on the second note, it is tooooo hottt outside right now to do anything...

OK, it looks like I was wrong. Few minutes after disconnecting TPS the idle goes back to fluctuation. I have adjusted the TPS and it reads 1 KOhm when closed, and 4.25 KOhm at WOT. SO the TPS is adjusted correctly. Also it does not matter what I do with the idle adjustment screw at the top of the intake, it does not help
Still when warm, idle fluctuates between 200 and 1000RPM. When I turn the AC on the idle jumps slightly above 1000RPM an stays steady.
Any suggestions?
I have also checked for vacuum leaks using carb cleaner, and could not see/hear anything obvious.
