New look ... opinions?

I'm going to take my car back into the shop over the winter to get the front end lined up a bit better. I'm going to have the turn signal holes shaved for sure, and I was thinking about also having the headlight covers welded onto the hood so that it's smooth. Of course, you couldn't use the stock headlight covers since they're steel, but look at the pic and see what I mean. Do you like it? I think it make the front look smooth. I'm also going to do something to make the ftp holes smooth looking, but still use them as air intakes.

Check the pic to see my 5 minute Photoshop job of what I mean.

Thumbs up ....

Damn that is a nice FC!... I like the size of the opening... big mouth = big air flow = big FMIC ! That's the corksport front end right? Sweet car man!

Would look good that way. The only thing I would change is the location of the hood pins. I don't know if that is possible, but they look kinda funny out in the middle after the headlight covers are eliminated.

Anyway, I can't wait to see your car this weekend.

I'm assuming that's a paint shop pro / photomagic eddited pic?

You could also convert to the recessed lights and then just weld the rest onto the hood?

Talking

I like it, I like it. That looks tight man. Though, is it possible to smooth out the openings where you are getting your intake? They just look really rough to me.

Well, if you don't need the headlights, why not? It'll definitely look cleaner that way.

I probably will drive it on the street to tune it ... just slap some plates on and hit some back streets.

Sorry Flobb - my car won't be there. I'm still waiting on my engine.

You're right, it does look funny with the hoodpins in the middle ... I probably would move them out to the edges and toward the front a bit. The FTP holes will be smoothed out. I'll do like the Miatas have, with those inserts that are a smooth funnel intake look.

I was just wondering if that was indeed the corksport front end or the border bumper? Did you have to modify to install it since it's made for 89-91?

That car looks very bad *** in person. I say keep the headlight covers. Maybe its just me, but couldnt you wire the lamps to the switch, then have them open when your running it? If you have no lights in there, it should catch some nice cool air? Maybe its just a dumb idea.

Aw man, you got my hopes up with those posts in the event thread. Guess it's better to know now than when I get there.
