I dont have any subs, they got stolen . But my main purpose of weight reduction was so that I could put in a decent audio system and still maintain factory weight or a little under. I didnt just remove the carpet theres a few other things Ive taken out as well.

?????? WOW...YOU MADE YOUR CAR LOOK LIKE SHIET FOR A MEASLY 1/10 OF A SECOND IN THE 1/4 MILE????

100lbs. of dead weight removed equals around 1/10 of a second removed from your quarter mile time..... and i know the carpet, pods, pod support, etc..dont even equal 40lbs. so why destroy the interior?

whatever man... to each his own. Personally, I don't think removing the carpet is worth the weight savings, but maybe he thinks it looks cool.

maybe i should have worded it different..."make his INTERIOR" look like shiet"..... other than that, the car is looking like a good project...... i dont give negative comments unless there is reason to support it..... he said he did it to save weight... and unless he is building a pro drag car, that amount of weight savings is useless..... and makes the interior (or lack ther of) look like ***! BUT, if he likes the look of gutted interiors, then thats different....everyone has different tastes (if you hadnt noticed, my car gets just as many negative as positive)...... i was just making a remark to his reasoning for doing it! thats all!

i removed the carpet and all paneling and padding and even screaped up the sound dampening material frton to back..left only the door panelse dasha nd counsel and the roofing...and all together it was probably atleast 200 lbs...the carpet and padding is well over 40lbs...probably about 60... for thew whole thing...front and rear...i think its worth it..specially when this isnt my daily driver.. plus its a 2 seater..what u need interior for lol...

I was actually considering gutting my interior, but thats because it would prob look better that way. My carpet is all crapped up.

Well the interior removal isnt 100% weight reduction, My carpet was kinda staind and what not and its just something I wanted to do, no one rides it in besides me anyways so when people say it looks shity I just say ok well then dont ride in it. Im probably going to replace it Im just waiting on a good deal for black carpet.

i could go on and on about how dumb it is to remove your entire interior especailly when everything is stock! Dont put in more subs because you will now go over the stock weight since you added the strut bars and aero mirrors.

I would most certainly look for replacment carpet. You will be alot happier with out self when you look in your FC and see CARPET!

i took the padding that is under the carpet in the hatch. but that is because all the little fiberes were getting stuck to the dynamat. the dynamat made it quieter too.

Because I added aero mirrors? You really think aero mirrors weigh more then factory S4 mirrors?

Hey, diggin' the Aero mirrors! Why you ask? Because they came from the TII in my avatar. (Que Disney's "Small World" music)

So yes, the heritage of your mirrors is one of greatness. I can even *barely* make out a hint of my old OEM Noble white paint through the several pin-hole paint-chips...

*sniff*

you could loose a few pounds by cleaning up the grundge in that engine bay. Best thing to do is hit everything except electronics with that orange foam degreaser from pepboys and then hit it with compressed air. It will make it showroom clean.

Also I am also a fan of stripping the interior. You might want to try using the home bedliner kit from pepboys to cover up all that metal in the back.
