resistor relay question

I'm running a Power FC, and am having low voltage issues to the pump at high rpm, which is why I decided to rewire the pump as per 1300cc.com, and Hailers instruction. Anyway, the long and the short of it is that the pig tail for the resistor relay was destroyed. Now I know I could simply hard wire the resistor relays harness, but I did try the fuel pump out with the resistor relay simply bypassed ( all other components of Hailers instructions were followed). Now I see great voltage to the pump all through the rpm band and I can simply tune out additional fuel if needed at idle, of where ever the fpr does not bleed off enough pressure.

Anyway what I'm asking is, are there any downsides to not running the resistor relay other than not having it switch to 9v at cruise and idle. Like I said the car seems to run fine at the moment, with the desired high rpm voltage I was looking for, so just checking in...

Thanks for the input...and thanks for the fuel pump rewire write up.

Reducing the pump speed is done to lower pump noise and extend pump life, so the only disadvantages would be higher pump noise and reduced pump life.
