new gauge adaptations
Hey all
I recently got a ES300 gauge cluster from a local pull-a-part and want to adapt it in parts or as a whole to my rx7. If anyone can help me find some pinouts of the back of the ES300 cluster that would ROCK! also this is for comments also let me hear what you think.

He's not talking about the engine. You'll need to add a convertor that takes a mechanical output from the gearbox and converts to an electrical pulse. You can see there's nowhere to connect the FC's speedo cable.
Just curious, but what's the point? That cluster looks both wider and lower than the stock one, has fewer instruments, will probably require re-calibration of all of the gauges to work, and doesn't look any better. You'll also lose the low-coolant warning system entirely.

Start with the ES300 service manual to find out what this cluster expects to see from the sensors. I think you'll find that the ECU connection is a databus like CAN. Just a guess though.
AutoMeter and many of the gauge suppliers sell modules to convert a mechanical speedometer into an electrical one, or an entirely new system the uses a hall sensor and a driveshaft/axel shaft mounted magnet.
