New gameplan for My TII.......not very happy about it but it could be worse....

My car was broken into HERE and I had to bring it back to stock for now......( out of cash and my mods are gone) and I need to drive this to work ( another story I don't want to get into) fairly soon.......

I have an NA hood on my car now thinking I was going to Make my own vented Hood once I had my FMIC ON.....but since THAT was put on hold now I'm stuck with an NA hood and a TMIC........I am not about to pay some shmuck over 200 bux for a TII hood so THAT's Out of the question. Now I'm on ebay looking for vents and hood scoops for the TMIC AND a cold air intake like the AB-Flug FD but I cannot find anything great...........

So far I am looking at these for the TMIC:
For a CJ7

This for the CAI (thinking of using a Honda intake to bring the cone filter slightly out of the hood):
I believe this is the SMALLER SCOOP and NOT the BIG IC scoop

This one for the IC.....some some universal ricer roof scoop like the FF eclipse.

I really can't find ANY nice BIG scoops for the TMIC and I'm still looking for for some SMALLER scoops for the CAI...............

Any input is greatly appreciated........positive or negative........As I said before; I wanted a REVERSE vented scoop but I HAVE to make a TMIC scoop now and my CAI was an ongoing idea....I need to find out how big the CJ7 scoop is.......THAT one looks the most promising SO FAR...

here is a quick photoshop I just made........you can see where the intake and mass airflowmeter are now and where it would move once I use the prelude intake......

PLEASE PLEASE EXCUSE HOW DISRTY MY BABY IS.....I can assure you I washed it soon after these pics.

IF you can keep your foot off it until you get your **** straight, you can run an NA hood over a TMIC and be okay. IF you make any WOT runs, or even 2/3 throttle runs without the TMIC breathing, you could kill it. Driving down the road with little or no boost will not impact the engine at all. Lots of old 1st generation turbo'd cars (early 280's and 300's etc.) didnt even have IC's at all.

that last scoop looks best and most like the stocker IMO, it would need to be glassed in and even then won't be nearly as effective as the stock TII hood with the seal but its better than nothing.

and wtf is with the cup under the car in that pic? looks assy, lol.

I was thinking about that too. As soon as I can find a GOOD cheap scoop I'll cut the NA hood and I'll consider it my template. I have some ideas running around in my head and I wanna play around, cut and rivet things. I'll Prolly end up with some weird TII/ reverse vented CAI monster hood......

how could they get the "super ultra JDM black ultra super couplers JMD mad tite black color" wrong?

bar and plate is more efficient but barely, Greddy intercoolers are tube and fin but still produce some serious numbers.

is the tubing you ordered powder coated or just spray painted on?

if its just paint then just install what you've got. otherwise use mr landers advice and just keep your foot off the throttle until you get the new piping

careful with the ebay couplers too, if you look at the ads almost all of them have thread reinforced couplers pictured but a number of sellers are sending simple thin silicone hoses. i had 2 of the regular silicone hoses BLOW UP at only 8PSI, now i will settle for nothing less than reinforced couplers.

Dear Customer,
We do apologize for that. We were unaware that of the color that was shipped to you. Unfortunately our the shipment that was sent to us only had these colors and we were unaware of the color until you told us about it. We hope that this is not a big issue with you. Are you willing to keep this item? Please let us know.

I said I'd compromise and keep the piping but want red couplers.........if he doesn't then he gets NEG feedback.
