new to the forum and have some questions (kinda long)

hey everyone, i've been browsing on and off of this forum for a while, so i decided to register. i have a 1989 Rx7 GTU that is, at this point, bone stock, as well as a 1994 honda civic for my daily driving. I am semi new to the tuner scene, so I apologize in advance for any ignorance. hopefully I can learn something here and there on this forum.

I got the 7 a good few years ago from a friend because I needed a car. truth is, I had no idea what the car was, so i didnt really do anything to it at that point. after a year or so of driving, a cooling hose blew, the engine overheated once or twice, and I took it off the road for a few years.

now, I have been researching for a while on the rotaries and am ready to take advantage of some of the potential my car has.

question 1- what recommendations do you all have for a reasonably priced intake and exhaust? I have had my eye on the racing beat setup, but for the whole system, it seems a bit pricey. is it worth it? or are there others I should be looking at. (oh yeah.. i would like to stay with a dual tip)

question 2- my headlights wont go down, anyone know how to fix this? i tore apart the front end a while ago to straighten out some minor damage from a post in a parking lot. even after hitting this, the headlights operated fine, but to be safe i left them up. so after going in and fixing it, I cant get them to go down. I remove the relay, lower the lights manually and as soon as i replace the relay, they pop back up.. so i know that the motors work.. but beyond that, i'm lost.

anyway, that should do for now. I would appreciate some feedback, and apologize for this post being so long.

thanks

I'm going to route you to the 2nd Gen Specific forum, since thats their domain.

But, the first question is pretty general. Racing Beat is a tad expensive, but worth every penny, high quality goods. Hell, they've been in the rotary game since the beginning pretty much. There are other companies you can go through, but the cheaper ones will generally be crap. And you dont want the more expensive parts, so those are out too. I like Apex'i myself, but they don't have a dual system like you want.

My mechanic says that the Genie dual setup is very good...

Remember that these prices are in Canadian dollars.

I would say that a control line to the relay is on when it shouldn't be, or that the relay itself is faulty
