1. Your car may or may not have power steering. There should be 2 belt driven pumps on the right side (facing the front) of the engine. The upper one is PS, the lower is AC. You could have both, one, or none.

Ive never seen a new engine. I would go with a rebuild which is 2000+, or a J-spec engine, which runs around 1000

you can usually tell when the car has power steering, especially when trying to turn at low speeds like in parking lots, or you can check for the power steering dealie under the hood like TONY said.

Thumbs up

thanks, that is a great price actually. I love the car already. I have a 97 eclispe gs and a 92 cutlass convertible. I love the RX-7 the most. I bought it fairly cheap. it is a 87 turbo with (now get this) 203,000 miles. I gave 800 for it. It needs alot of cosmetic work on it. But it should look nice before spring hit. Let me ask you guys this, what color looks good this gen? I was thinking of yellow but it seems played out. Then i thought of viper blue with stripes but then agian played. So give me your honest opinnions on what you think.

Regarding color- can't go wrong with black. There is a SWEET purple TII on here, and another one with purple paint that changes in the light... a yellow 'vert that looks really good. Dark blue, charcoal grey... also saw a nice looking green one.

So when were you guys going to tell the newbie that a J-spec engine isn't a direct bolt-in for his left-hand drive TII?
