new FC owner

hi just wanted to introduce myself, my names Greg i just bought my first FC, it's an 88 se with moonroof and a/c, and cruise control. White exterior. interior is blue, with a bunch of black pieces ( steering column, gauge surround, stereo surround) was this stock that way? my first things i'll be doing to it, is to rebuild all 4 brake calipers and replace the rotors, then probably a bushing kit, and new stuts in a month or 2.

Thats Dope Greg...I actually started my same project in Tampa...An 88 se...exact items as your car. Actually Same car diff colors.

I was trying something Diff...I was going to use an S5 block with my S4 upper and Mid manifold. Iam running a N/A so its something for me 2 get started on while i purchase another s4 turbo'd block and parts. Any experts think Iam going in a bad direction ??

i'll have some pictures up in a day or so, i just picked the car up this afternoon and had to create a way to mount the battery tray that was in there, it was just sliding around and probably would have gotten eaten by the motor. so far i'm pretty sure it's completely stock except some random intake thats on it, when i take some pictures i'll be sure to get one of it and see if it can be identified.

rather than go through the trouble to rebuild the calipers i'd do a 5 lug conversion. you'll end up with bigger rotors, 4 piston calipers and ventilated brakes.

when i got mine the battery was held in with a bungee cord. haha.

Sweet, i used to live in Vacaville. The FC im looking at buying is also white with blue interior, does anyone know of a dye that works, i like the black interior more. I read that dupli-color vinyl & fabric works good but i bought some and it sucked

well i'm currently inbetween job so funds are the problem with the swap, parents are only willing to loan me money for fixing it up not upgrading unfortunately. my birthdays next month so i just asked for pads and new rotors and a full bushing kit. we just rebuilt my buddies calipers on his mk1 mr2 so i know thats no big deal. and in the end i'll have a set of rebuilt calipers for sale after the swap alittle later this year.

okey guys after alittle ride tonite, i've come to the conclusion the clutch is either shot or the master or slave is shot, my clutch is like nothing, very little resistance at all and it engages all the way at the top almost. possibly just way out of adjustment? i'm gonna take a look tomorrow see if either are bad, oh well looks like i'll be tearing into this thing sooner than expected, also theres a funny sound shifting from 1st to 2nd, hope it's just the clutch making that. we'll see

Is that funny sound associated with a "feel" of some sort? Could be a bad or going bad synchro.
